Todd and Nicole’s January wedding has the distinction of being the first of 2016 for Saddleback Studio! It was wonderful and filled with excited family and friends, set amid the beauty of an Adirondack winter night.
Weddings that happen close to home are a delightful anomaly. Most Saturdays find me gearing up early in the day for a long drive, but local weddings begin with a much slower pace and a steady familiarity. I love venturing out to new locals, but the occasional close-to-home event is a nice change of pace.Nicole and her bridesmaids got ready at a beautiful house overlooking Lake Pleasant with the Groom and his groomsmen getting prepped just down the hill along the shoreline.
A gorgeous candlelight ceremony with sprinklings of red roses and poinsettias was the last word in romance. There’s something about a New Year/Christmas wedding; they have all the dramatic loveliness! Have I mentioned that Nicole wore a gorgeous hand-sewn cape? It was spectacular! Especially when we nipped out into the icy winter night for a few photos. The reception was held at the awesome Oak Mountain, a local venue and ski resort. It was a gorgeous celebration complete with dancing, heartfelt toasts, and a candy bar.
